January 16, 2017...Happy MLK day!

"The time is always right to do what is right"  This is one of my favorite quotes from Dr. King.  Isn't it amazing how profound this simple quote is?  What are we doing on a daily basis to make the world a better place? I think this sentiment fits very nicely with the Zig Ziglar philosophy: "You can have anything you want in life, it you just help enough other people get what it is that they want".  If you are able to help somebody, do it.  If you are able to make someone elses life a little bit better, do it.  If you can make a postitive impact on someone else, do it.  Enjoy the day and make it count!

January 10, 2017...1rst blog post of the new year.

Happy New Year!!!   What is/are your resolutions?  lose weight? make more money? save more money? vacuum your carpet more frequently?

I know.  Nobody resolves to vacuum more frequently, but if you did, you could save yourself money.  Seems like a stretch?  It's actually pretty simple.

The more you vacuum your carpet, the longer it will last. This is a fact.

Almost 80% of all soil that resides in your carpet is insoluble.  That means you cannot dissolve it in water or with a cleaning solution of any type. It doesn't matter what your favorite spot remover is...It doesn't matter if you found the best diy carpet cleaning formula on the entire internet...It must be vacuumed out. For most of us, that means the soil is mostly sand. We track it in on our shoes.  It hides in the grooves of your soles. When you walk across the carpet, it drops off your shoes.  Vacuuming is the only way to remove this.

Sand destroys carpet fibers.  Sand is essentially little tiny pieces of glass with very jagged edges. Those edges cut and scratch your carpet fibers.  They make it look dull because it now does not reflect light the same way it did when it was new.  All of that sand causes your carpet to wear out much quicker than it should.

Most people only vacuum once every week or two

What if you changed that habit?  What if you vacuumed thoroughly on Saturday, and then on Wednesday you quickly went over just the traffic areas of your carpet...

This one simple change might take you an extra 3-5 minutes, but it would prolong the life of your carpet. Your carpet might last 15 years instead of 8.  New carpet is a big investment of money, time, and hassle.  If you could double the lifespan of your exisiting carpet, that would be pretty awesome.  All you have to do is vacuum a bit more.
